Learn to Love Him in the Mundane

This video below contains so much of what I’ve been saying lately. Melissa Dougherty has a saying about the desire to have experiences in your Christian walk; picture it as if God is saying, “If you never have another “experience” with Me, is My Word enough for you?” Until we can say, ‘yes’ to that, we have work to do.

Folks, this video says my heart. I was like Morgan, but now I am fully satisfied in Him through His Word and staying in prayer with Him.

Keep on trusting. God’s Word will excite you. Just keep digging in. If something doesn’t make sense or seems contradictory, just say to yourself:

  • This doesn’t make sense, RIGHT NOW, but I trust it’ll become clear sometime. I believe. Help me in my unbelief, or:
  • This seems really contradictory, RIGHT NOW, but I will trust in Him rather than let it destroy my faith. I believe. Help me in my unbelief.

Just keep on reading. Ask His Spirit to help accurately dissect what you’re reading as well as what you’re hearing and seeing around you. Ask Him to be the gatekeeper over your eyes, ears, heart, brain, and mouth. Let Him be in charge of what comes in and goes out. There will be moments where it feels like a chore to go to the Bible and read. Been there. But, still make it happen. We need to eat; we’re spiritual beings!
